COMMON WARNING ISSUES:

Signs that your dryer vent may need cleaning.

A clean dryer vent helps your dryer work better, saves energy, and helps keep your home safer.

Longer Drying Times

If your clothes are taking more than one cycle to dry, your dryer vent may be clogged with lint. A restricted vent forces your dryer to work harder and can increase energy costs.

Excessive Heat

Is your dryer, laundry room, or clothing unusually hot after a cycle? Excess heat is often a sign that airflow is restricted and your dryer vent needs attention.

Dryer Shuts Off or Shows Error Codes

Many newer dryers have built-in safety features that may stop the cycle or display an error when airflow is restricted. A clogged vent is often the cause.

Damp Clothes or Musty Odors

If clothes are still damp or have a musty smell after drying, your dryer may not be able to exhaust moisture properly due to lint buildup in the vent system.

Lint Around the Dryer

Finding lint behind your dryer, on the floor, or around the laundry room can be a sign that the vent system is not venting properly.

Excess Lint on Clothing

More lint than usual on your clothes may indicate restricted airflow or a clogged dryer vent that needs professional cleaning.

Simple Homeowner Tip

If your clothes take longer to dry, your dryer feels hotter than normal, or it's been over a year since your last cleaning, it's time to schedule a professional dryer vent inspection and cleaning.

How Do We Clean a Dryer Vent?

At AAA Home Services, our goal is to provide a thorough, professional dryer vent cleaning that helps improve dryer performance and reduce fire risks caused by lint buildup.

When your technician arrives, they will begin by inspecting the dryer and venting system. The dryer is carefully pulled away from the wall as needed to access the vent connection. If the Rotary Cleaning Method is being used, a high-powered blower is connected to the dryer vent connection behind the dryer to create positive airflow through the system.

Your technician will then locate the exterior vent termination, whether it exits through a side wall or the roof. Based on the vent configuration, length, and accessibility, our technician will determine the safest and most effective cleaning method. Every system is different, and the cleaning process is selected at the technician's discretion to achieve the best possible results.

Method 1: Rotary Brush Cleaning

This is one of the most effective methods for removing lint buildup from the dryer vent system.

Using specialized equipment, we create positive air pressure through the vent while flexible dryer vent brushes are attached to high-powered rotary equipment. These brushes spin through the vent line, scrubbing the interior walls of the pipe and removing lint buildup, even through elbows and bends.

Our technician may repeat this process several times to ensure the vent is cleaned as thoroughly as possible. Once complete, the vent is inspected to verify proper airflow and cleaning results.

Method 2: Vortex Dryer Vent Cleaning®

Our service vehicles are equipped with commercial-grade air systems capable of delivering powerful compressed air.

Using a specialized air tool called a "Skipper," compressed air is propelled through the vent system to loosen, break apart, and remove lint buildup. The tool spins 360 degrees while moving forward through the vent, allowing it to clean the entire interior surface of the pipe.

As the Skipper advances through the system, lint is dislodged and blown through the vent until it reaches the dryer connection area for removal. This process may be repeated multiple times to achieve the highest level of cleaning possible.

Once completed, the technician reinspects the vent system to verify that airflow has been restored and the vent has been properly serviced.

What to Expect

Lint can be messy, especially when cleaning heavily used dryer vents. During the cleaning process, lint may be expelled from the roof vent or exterior termination.

Our technicians take pride in their work and make every effort to clean up accessible lint from the roof, ground, and work area before leaving your home.
